The Contract Management (CMS) module generates all the contract information from bid request through tendering, progress payment to contract final closing.
Information available includes:

• Bills of Quantity for tender, the initial tender documents can be prepared by direct input or by transferring data from the estimating module (EST)
• Comparative analysis of unit rates on returned bids
• Log of questions and answers from/to bidders during the bidding period
• Bid analysis of unit rates for use in contract or claims negotiations
• Contract bill of quantity sheet
• Progress Payment Certificates ready to sign, summary and detail
• Change order and contractor claim control
• Contract variation based on quantities for unit cost and cost plus contracts or document change for lump sum contracts
• Control of submittals
• Control of bank guarantees

As the contract progresses and more detail design becomes available, each item can be re-estimated for calculating the future addenda and contract final value.

Data from this module is automatically transferred to the Capital Cost Module (CCS) allowing accurate update of Actual Cost, Committed Cost and Estimated Cost at Completion without any manual data re-entry.
The CMS keeps a record of payment history, allowing easy retrieval of past Progress Payment Certificates.

Actual progress can be entered manually based on quantity installed to date or as a percentage. Actual progress is entered on an accumulated basis and progress for the period is calculated as (Accumulated progress to date less Previous period accumulated progress). This concept avoids carrying over to the next period “over stated” progress from the previous period.

The progress measurement criteria defined in the Estimating module (EST) is available within the CMS module. This concept provides an on-line procedure for estimating the percent complete of each contract item.

The CMS automatically produces the Progress Payment Certificate for each contract with the retention calculation. Retention at level of contract item can be released totally or partially as required.

CMS can be used to manage timesheet based contract of services; in that case timesheet data can be transferred from the Resource Management Module (LXS).

CMS can also be used to manage engineering service work where progress is calculated based on the status of the document; in that case progress data calculated in the Engineering Management Module (EMS) can also be transferred.

Contract information is entered in the contracted currency; data is then converted into the reference currency using appropriate exchange rate and summarized automatically in the Capital Cost module (CCS) providing tracing from Progress Payment to Cost Report.
