The Material Management (MMS)
module tracks materials commodities such as piping electrical materials
etc. It uses a set of standard codes for tracking material from initial
material takeoff though procurement and warehousing to final installation.
The main information produced by the MMS includes List of Materials, Bill
of Materials, Material Requisitions, Bid Requests, Bid Analysis, Purchase
Orders, Material Receiving reports, Requisitions to the Warehouse and
tracking of missing material.
Proper use of this module provides an effective and accurate way to manage
material, ensuring that only the material required is purchased and that
it arrives on-site at the proper date. This approach minimizes unnecessary
over stock.
Another unique feature of this module is the capability to produce a
list of the materials to be received, before they are unloaded, avoiding
interpretation errors or miss-coding.
The MMS produces ready-to-sign requisitions for the warehouse, if required
by the contractor.
By-products of the MMS are punch-list tracking and progress measurement
by system, feature extremely useful for start-up.
Module links to the MMS are:

• Schedule Interface (SCH) for transfers of required on-site date
from the CPM to the materials.
• Cost Control (CCS) updates commitment and Estimate at Completion
(EAC) accounts regarding materials.
• Estimating (EST) provides material cost information.
