Procurement planning and control
is the key to successful EPCM project.
By monitoring the bidding cycle, the project manager can insure that the
design packages are issued in time, the contractor and suppliers start
in time, the vendor information required to complete drawing is available
and material and equipment are delivered as scheduled.
The Procurement and Expediting Module (PXS) accomplish this function,
it monitoring on line the procurement cycle of Purchase Orders and Contracts.
PXS measure on line the progress and the performance of the procurement
activities by package, by function or by responsible. This is one of the
most powerful tool of the JMS© system.
The PXS interfaces with other modules of JMS© including Schedule,
Equipment, Material Management, Contract Management and Capital Cost Control
to name a few.
Required on Site dates are transferred automatically from the CPM schedule.
Data can be displayed in tabular or graphical format or displayed in bar
chart format using MS Project.
Different procurement cycles can be defined for equipment purchase, material
purchase, and construction contracts.
The events along a procurement cycle can be scheduled using standard
durations. When a date is modified the PXS reschedules automatically the
date of the remaining activities. Target dates can also be used to lock
the dates of an event that must take place. The PXS flags all the events
requiring action and the impact of any procurement delay on the overall
project schedule. |
